TEENAGE MUTANT HERO TURTLES

Highly popular through the 80s and 90s, the Turtles, guided by the rat known as Splinter, were in a constant battle against Krang (a pink brain thing) and Shredder, who had his bumbling hench-men Beebop and Rocksteady. The turtles also had an friend - April O'Neill - who would defend the Turtles on her news programme and help them out in the action against Krang and Shredder.

There were also 3 live action Turtles movies made in the early 90's.

NOTE: They were known as Teenage Mutant NINJA Turtles in the USA, but in the UK they were the Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles

In todays (Sep 24th 2003) UK Metro paper, Corey Feldman (who voiced Donatello in the live action film) was interviewed briefly... here are 2 of the questions...

Q. When you did Donatello, did you ever think you'd got a raw deal? Let's face it, he was a crap turtle.
A. I didn't percieve it that way. I always thought Donatello was the coolest.
Q. Come on. He had a wooden staff and purple headgear - hardly manly stuff.
A. He's a turtle, go give him some respect - and from what I hear, a lot of turtles don't have very big staffs. His is huge - he pulls it out and the girls drop in their pants. And purple is very manly. You wouldn't want orange or red - those are gay colours. Don't f*** with my Donatello.
